Training eBay staff in Mental Health First Aid

Sue France UK Marketing Director: “The Mind Map’s training provided the tools to understand more about what mental health is and also to recognise the signs of distress in our colleagues, our loved ones and even ourselves and is a positive first step in helping those around us to get the help they need.”

The Challenge

We were asked by eBay’s recruitment lead Faye, to train their staff in Mental Health First Aid due to her staff operating during uncertain times, brought on by Covid-19. Faye required us to offer her staff expertise around maintaining their own mental health and wellbeing, plus skills needed to confidently help someone experiencing mental ill health.

What We Did

We provided our half day Mental Health First Aid England, training course for eBay staff across departments including HR and marketing learn. how define mental health, understand common mental health issues and how to address stigma.

The Outcome

eBay’s UK Marketing Director, Sue France said, “The Mind Map’s training provided the tools to understand more about what mental health is and also to recognise the signs of distress in our colleagues, our loved ones and even ourselves and is a positive first step in helping those around us to get the help they need.”

Phil Bridges, founder of The Mind Map said: “Working from home, connecting from home and doing life admin from our beds, box rooms and back gardens means we’ve seen a reduction in our social interactions – which can have a negative impact on our mental health. So it’s a great time for staff to be increasing their mental health awareness.”
