For Time To Talk Day we’ve created a special Head Count series asking Arriva North West commuters how they feel from 0-5, to show we all have mental health and our own ways of staying well.

Here’s our interview with Joe, 21 from London. Joe is studying Psychology at The University of Liverpool.

Hello Joe, how are you feeling today from 0 to 5?

A 4, because I feel pretty good but then I’ve got an exam so a bit of a stress over that. Overall though, I’m feeling pretty alright.

What do you do to stay mentally well?

I just always keep myself in check. I’m always trying to think about what is actually going alright in my life, and then I’m also thinking, “Does it actually need to be this hard?” Just trying to look at different perspectives on things and sometimes make it better. I’m also doing some exercise, trying to stay sleek. And meditation sometimes.

Perfect, would you recommend us a book, film or band?

Good film… ‘Goodfellas.’ Just a great film.
