For Time To Talk Day we’ve created a special Head Count series asking Arriva North West commuters how they feel from 0-5, to show we all have mental health and our own ways of staying well.

Here’s our interview with Laura, 20 from Leeds.

Hello Laura, how are you feeling today from 0 to 5?

Yeah, 4 I would say. I’ve got my dissertation due in a few weeks time and that’s at the back of my mind. I’m not really stressed but you know when you’re enjoying yourself and then you think, “Oh, dissertation!” But, apart from that, I’m doing pretty well.

Where are you travelling to?

Asda. Just for a weekly shop.

What do you do to stay mentally well?

Exercise. Even just going for little walks for a bit of fresh air – not to like run or anything or go to the gym. Socialise as well, like if you feel a bit bad in your room you can go downstairs and speak to your friends. That definitely helps.

Could you recommend us a book, film or band?

I’m watching ‘You’ on Netflix. I would recommend it, it’s really good. It’s just weird, like you side with the guy and you back him up because you think, “Oh, he’s doing really good stuff…” Yeah, but then he’s killing people…
