What made you want to attend the Mental Health First Aid course?
After seeing your post on Facebook, I just thought that it seemed super interesting as well as like knowing quite a lot of people who are like me and work with people who may benefit, like friends or band members or myself. It’s something that I’m interested learning more about, so I could help them just talk to them and just be there for people.
What did you learn from the course?
I found it very interesting, particularly the whole ALGEE thing; the way in which you can kind of speak to people and the different methods to like follow. How you can help people in the best possible way.
How do you think you will use this knowledge?
I’ll definitely use it, especially the whole non-judgemental side of it, I found really interesting. I think I can use that when I’m speaking to people and things like that. Just try and listen and be there for them. Maybe I used to wait for them to approach me first, whereas like now I think if I’ve noticed something that’s not maybe quite right maybe I would have more confidence to ask the questions.
Would you recommend the course?
Yeah for sure, definitely.
